Yes. Verma Contracting is fully licensed to perform general contracting work in New York City and carries general liability and workers' compensation insurance. We'll send you copies of both before the job starts, not after you ask twice.

Who pulls the permits for my job?

We do. Any work that requires a DOB permit — structural changes, electrical, plumbing tie-ins, additions — gets filed and pulled under our license before crews show up. You never have to deal with the Department of Buildings yourself.

How long will my project take?

It depends on scope, but you'll get a real written timeline before you sign anything, not a guess. A single room typically runs a few weeks; a full gut renovation runs longer. We tell you the schedule up front and flag it immediately if anything pushes it.

How do estimates work, and are they free?

Estimates are free. We walk the space, ask what you actually want out of the job, and send a detailed written scope with pricing broken out by trade — not a lump number you have to trust blind.

What's your payment schedule?

We work on a deposit plus staged draws tied to completed work — never full payment up front, and never a final payment until you've walked the finished job and signed off.

Do you work in co-ops and condo buildings?

Regularly. We handle board applications, insurance certificates, and building-specific rules (work hours, elevator protection, alteration agreements) as part of the job, not as an extra.
